Je’Von Evans has earned a shot at the gold.
On the June 18 episode of WWE NXT, 25 superstars competed in a battle royal where the winner would earn a shot at NXT Champion Trick Williams at NXT Heatwave. TNA’s Joe Hendry and Frankie Kazarian made surprise appearances in the bout. WWE main roster stars Dragon Lee, Angel, Berto, Apollo Crews, and Tyler Bate also competed.
Shortly after the match started, Oro Mensah ran in and brawled with Ethan Page, and they fought to the back. The match came down to Frankie Kazarian, Dragon Lee, Shawn Spears, and Je’Von Evans. Evans eliminated Kazarian. Spears then eliminated Lee. Evans ultimately scored the win by eliminating Spears. WWE then confirmed that Evans would challenge Trick Williams for the title at NXT Heatwave.
