Jenn Tran has a few words of advice for Joan Vassos ahead of Wednesday’s premiere of the “Golden Bachelorette.”
“I would [tell her] that, you know yourself better than anyone — and your family and friends, too,” the reality star exclusively told Page Six’s Desiree Murphy following her debut on “Dancing With the Stars” Tuesday night.
“Just lean into your friends and family. That’s what I did, and that’s what kind of helped me really go through it all.”
Jenn Tran is encouraging Joan Vassos to “stay off the internet” once her season of “The Golden Bachelorette” airs on Wednesday. Disney Tran chatted with Page Six following her debut on “Dancing With the Stars.” DisneyTran, who starred as the Season 21 lead of “The Bachelorette,” also advised Vassos to avoid social media while her episodes are airing.
“Sometimes the internet can be hard, and I would just say to stay off the internet as much as you can!” the 26-year-old said with a laugh.
Tran, 26, joined the reality dance competition fresh off her season of the ABC franchise, which ended in heartbreak after former fiancé Devin Strader called off their engagement via phone.
Tran also thinks Vassos should “lean on” her loved ones this season. Disney “I would [tell her] that, you know yourself better than anyone,” Tran said of Vassos. DisneyHowever, the former reality TV star — who poignantly danced to Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” during Tuesday’s premiere — says joining “DWTS” after such “a public breakup” was empowering for her.
“I’ve been through heartbreak before, and after every heartbreak, it’s important to pour energy back into yourself. Realize that you can be independent and that you can buy yourself flowers … and do everything that you might want a man to do.”
Judges gave Tran, who is partnered with Sasha Farber, a combined score of 19/30 for her lively cha cha.

Meanwhile, her former love interest and “Bachelor” alum Joey Graziadei is also competing on Season 33, which kicked off Tuesday night.
He and partner Jenna Johnson shocked viewers — and judges — with their impressive performance set to “Dancin’ In The Country” by Tyler Hubbard. The duo received a 21/30 for the cha cha.
Graziadei, who is engaged to Kelsey Anderson, told Page Six on the post-show red carpet that it’s “been friendly” between him and Tran behind-the-scenes, despite their history.
“It’s been great,” the 29-year-old said. “It’s been friendly, I wouldn’t even really call it a competition.”
The song was special to the former reality TV star, who is fresh off a breakup from Devin Strader. Disney Fellow Bachelor Nation star Joey Graziadei is also competing on Season 33 of “DWTS.” DisneyHe continued, “I think one of the best parts of this show is everyone roots for each other. Like, we know that it’s so difficult, so out of everyone’s comfort zone. So we are just trying to rally behind each other and make sure everyone does the best that they can do.”
While Graziadei is rooting for his fellow competitors, he is also cheering on Vassos, 61, as she prepares for the mayhem that is Bachelor Nation.
“I don’t think I can give any advice to Joan. She is obviously an amazing woman,” he told us. “She has lived a full life and has done so many amazing things herself.”
Graziadei told us there hasn’t been any awkwardness between him and Tran, who competed on his season of “The Bachelor.” Disney Graziadei also wished Vassos well ahead of the big premiere. DisneyWhile typical “Bachelor” contestants are still “figuring out stuff about themselves,” the former tennis coach says he loves watching an older generation who “are so confident” and “know who they are.”
“They are such a wholesome part of it and I just can’t wait to watch it,” he gushed.
Twenty-four men — all over the age of 60 — will compete for Vassos’ love on “The Golden Bachelorette,” which premieres Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Meanwhile, fans can catch Graziadei and Tran compete on “Dancing With the Stars,” Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
