Jenna Bush Hager shares photo of son she says looks just like dad George W. Bush

Jenna Bush Hager gushed over her son, Hal Hager, on his first day of school before pointing out his resemblance to her dad, former President George W. Bush.

On Wednesday’s episode of “Today With Hoda and Jenna,” the journalist gave a special shoutout to her three kids on their first days of school.

The proud mom shared a photo of Mila, 11, Poppy, 9, and Henry “Hal”, 5, posing with first-day-of-school signs.

“Hal Hagher has his first day of big kid school,” she said before adding with a laugh, “First of all, does he not look like he’s either my father in a 5-year-old body or being held captive?”

Jenna, 42, looked more at the sweet picture and joked that he looked “miserable,” but he’ll be “fine.”

“He’s like, ‘Should I go? Should I not go? Should I go? Should I not go?'” she continued.

However, Jenna assured her kids that “it’s OK to be nervous” on the first day of school as she felt the same way when she transitioned from a small private middle school to a large public high school “with a thousand kids in my freshman class.”

“I was like, ‘I’m telling you, I walked in, my knees were shaking.’ And Hal was like, ‘You were?'” she shared. “It’s OK to be nervous!”

This is not the first time Hal’s resemblance to Jenna’s dad and her grandfather, also former President George H.W. Bush, has been brought to light. Fans pointed out just how much they all looked alike when Hal made his debut on the popular NBC talk show in April.

And last month, Jenna posted a series of photos of Hal for his fifth birthday when dozens of social media users commented about the resemblance.

“He is so cute and looks just like your dad!” someone commented.

“Your dads [sic] twin!” another wrote.

“Hal looks just like your Dad Jenna! So cute!!!” another user gushed.

Just moments before Jenna’s shoutout, Kotb had also raved about sending off her two daughters –– Haley, 7, and Hope, 4 –– to their first day at their new school.

“I have a whole new town and a whole new school and we went for our first day of school,” Kotb explained.

“I carried coffee and I had sneakers and I walked with my kids to school like normal people! It was awesome! I loved doing it, because I just haven’t been able to do that, and it was so fun!”
