Joaquin Wilde Advances In WWE Speed #1 Contender’s Tournament

The road to determining the next challenger for Andrade’s WWE Speed Championship is underway.

The July 31st episode of WWE Speed featured the beginning of a new #1 Contender’s Tournament. In first-round action, NXT Tag Team Champion Axiom took on Joaquin Wilde. Both high-flyers wowed the crowd with their athleticism throughout the bout. In the end, Wilde hit a 450 Splash for the victory.

The first round continues on the August 2 episode of WWE Speed, as Julius Creed will face Pete Dunne. The tournament also includes Austin Theory, Montez Ford, Je’Von Evans, and Ashante “Thee” Adonis.

What’s Next For Axiom?

Following his loss on WWE Speed, Axiom will aim to bounce back on the August 6 episode of WWE NXT. On the second night of the NXT Great American Bash special, Axiom and Nathan Fraxer will defend the NXT Tag Team Championship against MSK.
