Joe Hendry highlights the negatives and positives of working with AJ Francis.
WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently spoke with Joe Hendry to promote Slammiversary. Hendry is one of the six participants in the world title match at the pay-per-view, in part due to his surging popularity this year forcing TNA to change their plans.
Hendry feuded with AJ Francis earlier this year, and he’s said they have a “love-hate” relationship going on. We asked Hendry to say something that was only positive about working with Francis, without throwing shade at the current Digital Media Champion.
Hendry said he could say something positive… but he couldn’t say only positive things about him.
Just (can’t) do it
“Can’t do it. Can’t do it. I could say something positive, but it’s just not possible to be fair and say only positive things about AJ Francis,” Hendry proclaimed.
“I will say this. First of all, let me get the negatives out of the way. The guy’s unbearable. Someone needs to take his phone and throw it away. I mean, take his phone and throw it away and never give it back to him,“ Hendry explained. “He needs someone who he holds dear, to say, ‘AJ I don’t think you should post that.’ You know, there’s been a couple of those.”
Once he got that out of the way, Hendry did praise Francis for being a great adversary for him.
“AJ is super underrated at what he does. He’s the perfect foil for me and what I am doing,” Joe Hendry added. “I think me and AJ working together is an example of us being on a certain place of the card working together, and then at the end of it, well now, we are both key guys in a company. So that was a great piece of business for all involved. AJ is a big part of that. For sure.”
