There has been an update in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis.
In January 2024, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. Grant alleged that McMahon and Laurinaitis engaged in sexual assault and sex trafficking of her. McMahon and Laurinaitis have denied the allegations, and McMahon is under federal investigation.
Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, John Laurinaitis filed a sworn statement before The United States District Court of Connecticut. The statement was filed regarding the former WWE executive’s request that the lawsuit be moved to private arbitration.
Johnson notes that Laurinaitis filed a “sworn statement of facts” and cited:
As a full-time WWE employee at the time of Grant’s NDA with Vince McMahon and WWE, Laurinaitis “believed” he was a “released party” from any and all Lawsuits brought by Janel Grant. Per the terms of the Confidential Settlement Agreement, any issues that needed to be resolved would be required to take place in binding arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act. The Grant lawsuit is currently paused at the request of The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, as they currently have a “non-public” investigation into Vince McMahon.WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
