Arriving at Botafogo in 2024 in exchange for around twenty million euros, Thiago Almada expanded his record with Glorioso by winning the Brazilian championship and the Copa Libertadores. But the 23-year-old Argentine midfielder has already made it known that he will leave Rio de Janeiro to join Lyon.

Yet, UOL announces that Atlético de Madrid has made an offer of €20 million to Botafogo to recruit Almada this winter. A proposal which was refused by John Textor who wishes to send his player to Olympique Lyonnais. As a reminder, OL are still prohibited from recruiting by the DNCG, but Les Gones could still welcome Almada in the event of a free loan.
