Josh Brolin has officially joined the cast of the new adaptation of The Running Man, which stars Glen Powell. The movie, which is based on Stephen King‘s novel of the same name, was first announced in April 2024. It follows the 1987 movie, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now, it has been confirmed that Josh is in talks to secure a key role in the movie. Keep reading to find out more… According to reporting by Deadline, Josh will play the movie’s villain. If you were unaware, the novel is a chase thriller that takes place in 2025. According to the outlet, it, “centers on Ben Richards, a desperate man who participates in violent reality show called The Running Man in order to win enough money to revive his gravely ill daughter. The show follows Richards being chased by numerous hunters sent to kill him.” The exact details about Josh‘s role have not yet been confirmed, but it is believed that he “will play the antagonist who is behind the violent reality show.” The news comes just a few weeks after we learned that The Running Man will reunite Glen with a former costar.
