The Liga title race could take a decisive turn in the coming 48 hours, with the meeting between Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid.

Atlético de Madrid has been controversially eliminated in the Champions League by the Merengues in the middle of the week and occupies third place, only at one point from the Catalan giant.

The three teams are still in the running for a possible double liga-cup of the king this season, and this weekend will be decisive. Carlo Ancelotti and his family managed to obtain a positive result in Villarreal, Hansi Flick and Diego Simeone will therefore have to react to avoid seeing the gap widen. Barcelona remains on a series of 17 games without defeat, which started in his first 2025 game in his first match, but the Catalans were frustrated by Simeone this season.

The goal of Alexander Sorho in additional time allowed the team to win 2-1 in Liga in Catalonia in December. The two teams then left in a 4-4 draw in the semi-final first leg of the King Cup in February, Sorho having marked again after the 90th minute. The stake is all the more important before this match – which is added to the return match of the King Cup on April 2 – and the French international Jules Koundé is thirsty for revenge in Madrid.

Jules Koundé on mission

“Of course (that we want to take our revenge). We did not appreciate the last two results against Atlético de Madrid, because we want to win everything, especially against a direct opponent ”reports Marca.

“I think we made two good games in these last games, but we lacked the victory of little each time because of minor problems. So yes, we want to go there and win this weekend. »» Flick should only make one change of holder after the mid -week victory against Benfica, with Pau Cubarsi suspended for the return match, while Ronald Araujo suffered a rotation of the workforce.
