Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Liverpool sign Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri, who is also being watched by rivals Manchester United.
In January, Ait-Nouri was linked to the Reds when Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson were both injured.
They did not, however, choose to acquire a new left-sided defender; instead, Joe Gomez filled in until Robertson returned.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are still interested in signing a left-back and Ait-Nouri is the player they are considering.
Klopp wants Liverpool to sign the Wolves left-back
It is Klopp’s recommendation to sign the Algerian international, who will step down as manager of the team in the summer.
It would not be a surprise if the Reds make a move for the Wolves defender as the club would listen to the man who is the reason behind their success in the last decade.
Jurgen Klopp and Erik ten HagUnder Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s leadership, acquiring a new left-back has become a top priority at Old Trafford, according to transfer source Fabrizio Romano.
Man United can ruin Liverpool’s plans
The Red Devils will make a move for the player when their board room structure has been finalised.
According to TEAMtalk sources, Ait-Nouri’s transfer to United will also be based on sales.
The interest of both Liverpool and Man United is good news for Wolves who will enjoy the transfer battle between the two Premier League giants as it will help them push up the price of Ait-Nouri.
The 22-year-old is reportedly happy where he is at Molineux, but it would be tough for him to reject a transfer to a bigger team like Liverpool or Man United.
Jorge Mendes, an agent United has worked with on several times in the past, is Ait-Nouri’s representative.
