Barcelona are on the lookout for a new manager to replace Xavi Hernandez at the end of the ongoing season, after the club legend announced his decision to leave.
Over the past few weeks, numerous names have been constantly linked as potential successor for the former midfielder, with names like Hansi Flick, Roberto De Zerbi, and more recently Mikel Arteta being most prominently featured.
Another name that has been touted as a ‘dream target’ for Barcelona president Joan Laporta is Jurgen Klopp.
The Liverpool manager is set to leave his role at Anfield at the end of the season which gave way to speculations about a possible move to Barcelona despite the German’s insistence on taking a sabbatical year.
Klopp will not join Barcelona
As has been reported previously, some within Barcelona believed they could convince Jurgen Klopp to take over from Xavi rather than take a sabbatical.
However, as per journalist Sique Rodriguez, Klopp will not be joining Barcelona in the summer no matter what.
The German tactician has been at the helm of affairs at Liverpool for almost nine years now and has won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, among other honours.
With Barça president Joan Laporta appreciating the German school of managers, Klopp has been touted as his dream target, while other names like Flick, Thomas Tuchel, and Julian Nagelsmann have also been linked.
But, as things stand, Klopp will not be arriving in Barcelona in the summer, with the 56-year-old set to take a break from management once he steps down from the Liverpool job.
