As Barcelona got on with their final training session before travelling to Seville for their La Liga clash against Real Betis, star defender Andreas Christensen is not participating with the rest of the squad, reports Victor Navarro.

Christensen suffered a minor discomfort during Barça’s last game against Unionistas de Salamanca in the Copa del Rey on Thursday night.

The 27-year-old Danish international was taken off at half-time by manager Xavi Hernandez, with teenage talent Pau Cubarsi coming on to make his debut in place of the senior star.

However, it was expected that Christensen would be fit and ready to face Real Betis on Sunday with the issue understood to be nothing serious.

But, with not much time left before the squad takes off for Seville, the former Chelsea centre-half is not training with the rest of the players today.

Victor Navarro claims that the 27-year-old was instead doing some individual work in the gym, which casts doubts over his involvement against Real Betis tomorrow.

It now remains to be seen if he is available or not, with Xavi already being without two defenders in Joao Cancelo and Inigo Martinez.

But, Ronald Araujo should be back after serving his one-match ban during the Unionistas encounter which would be a welcome boost.
