The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently interrogating former Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, regarding transactions amounting to billions of naira during his tenure.
Ahmed who was a strong ally to former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was observed arriving at the EFCC office in Ilorin on Monday morning. According to reports from Channels Television, he was summoned by the EFCC and is presently responding to inquiries regarding the allocation of the purported funds during his time in office.
Ahmed served as governor of Kwara State from May 2011 to May 2019. In May 2021, he was previously questioned about the alleged misappropriation of approximately N9 billion from Kwara state’s treasury by a team of investigators at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja’s Jabi neighborhood.
