The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has taken action against Sahad Store, a well-known supermarket located in the Garki area of Abuja, by sealing its premises.
The management of the supermarket faced allegations of deceiving customers through pricing discrepancies, where prices at the checkout differed from those displayed on the shelves.
This action occurred just twenty-four hours after President Bola Tinubu announced plans to address the underlying causes of the food crisis.
The enforcement operation was led by Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi, the Acting Executive Vice Chairman of FCCPC. Speaking to journalists, Abdullahi stated that the commission’s initial investigation verified the claims of customer exploitation by the supermarket’s management.
He further declared that Sahad Store would remain closed pending the conclusion of a thorough investigation into the matter.
