The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, visited the family of former Senate President Bukola Saraki to offer condolences ahead of the funeral of their matriarch, Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, in Lagos.
Expressing her sympathy to the family, Mrs. Tinubu said her visit, authorized by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was to show the family’s love and support.
“We are one family. You know that politics aside, the President will always look out for you,” she said. “Mama lived a good life. I know it hurts, but we thank God for the good life she lived.”
Mrs. Tinubu also highlighted the support she received from Senator Bukola Saraki during her time in the upper chamber and prayed for the soul of the departed.
In response, Saraki expressed his appreciation for the visit, describing the First Lady as a compassionate and loving woman.
“You always see the bigger picture. I know you are a passionate woman full of compassion, and I appreciate your visit, which I know is with the President’s knowledge. Thank you very much,” Saraki said.
