EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has announced that The Magic Prank Show with Justin Willman, a new series from magician and comedian Justin Willman (Magic for Humans), is soon to begin streaming on the platform — appropriately enough, on April 1st, or April Fool’s Day.
The show sees Willman using his extraordinary skills to pull off ambitious and hilarious pranks like you’ve never seen before. Alongside his team of twisted professionals, he executes brain-bending experiences to help everyday folks blow people’s minds and settle old scores. View a trailer for it above.
A Critic’s Choice Award nominee, Willman is best known for hosting and exec producing the Netflix series Magic for Humans — showcasing a diverse array of tricks, from mind-bending mentalism to classic sleight of hand — which has thus far aired three seasons. As he debuted the most recent season of the show in 2020, amidst Covid’s spread across the globe, he also took to the internet with Magic for Humans @ Home, a ticketed virtual Zoom show, which amassed an audience of over 500,000 people from around the world watching from the comfort of their homes.
Beginning to hone his craft as a magician at the age of 12, first learning to perform card tricks as a means of regaining strength in his hands after breaking both his arms, Willman premiered the special Sleight of Mouth on Comedy Central in 2015. Previously, the St. Louis native has also been seen performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Conan, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Ellen, The Today Show and The Kelly Clarkson Show. His “Invisible Challenge” prank sparked a worldwide viral trend garnering over a billion views across social media in 2018.
Over the years, Willman has also hosted shows like Cupcake Wars for Food Network, Win, Lose or Draw for Disney Channel, and Baking Impossible for Netflix, to name just a few. He’s currently on a sold-out nationwide theater tour titled “Magic For Humans In Person,” with new shows to be announced via his website this month.
The Magic Prank Show with Justin Willman is executive produced by Willman, as well as Stuart Macleod, Jake Laufer, Daniel Kinno, Stuart Miller, and Dave Kneebone. Co-executive producers of the series are Maryna Harrison and Janel Kranking. Adam Franklin is its director.
Willman is repped by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Ryan LeVine of Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
