As expected, Thiago Motta’s Juventus have announced their first signing. In a statement released this Sunday, “Aston Villa can confirm that Douglas Luiz has joined Juventus. Having started his career at Vasco da Gama in his native Brazil, the midfielder signed for Villa in the summer of 2019. He leaves Villa having made over 150 appearances for the club.”.

The former City Group player, who has been with the Birmingham team since 2019, has therefore signed with Juventus in what should be a huge deal. According to the English press, Aston Villa will receive 20 million euros for this transfer, as well as two Turin players, for a total amount of around 50 million with bonuses: the Argentinian Enzo Barrenechea and the Englishman Samuel Iling-Junior, who should be made official in the process.
