Kaito Kiyomiya recently faced a returning Titus Alexander in singles action for the first time, and he hopes that it won’t be their last.
At NOAH‘s first episode of their Monday Magic Autumn season, GHC Heavyweight Champion Kaito Kiyomiya competed against the west coast’s very own Titus Alexander. Titus made his return to Pro Wrestling NOAH that night after being away for a little under two months. He previously competed in the promotion’s N-1 Victory tournament throughout August before his last NOAH match on September 1st.
The NOAH fans in Shinjuku FACE welcomed Titus Alexander back, chanting his name loudly at the start of the match. The two competitors then looked to gain the upper hand throughout. The crowd was constantly at the edge of their seats seeing the similarities in their in-ring style. After multiple back-and-forth sequences and near falls, however, Kaito Kiyomiya picked up the win by reversing Titus’ Corner German Suplex into a Figure Four Jackknife.
After the match, Kaito Kiyomiya extended his hand to Titus as a sign of respect. Both men agreed to the handshake before Kaito proceeded to the backstage media. The GHC Heavyweight Champion then praised his opponent for putting on a tough battle, saying that he wished for a rematch.
.@noah_kiyomiya: "I've been working on this belt for the title match at MONDAY MAGIC so I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of magic will come from it. I really think Titus is a great wrestler. I'm looking forward to the next time we do it."pic.twitter.com/4NSJO1Kwoj
— Pro Wrestling NOAH Global (@noahglobal) October 21, 2024Prior to their singles match at Monday Magic, the two have only faced off in tag team action. Their first encounter took place at NOAH Star Navigation 2024 – One Night Dream back in May. There, Titus Alexander alongside Starboy Charlie defeated Kaito Kiyomiya and Alejandro.
As of the time of writing, Kaito is slated to defend his world title against the winner of a match between Naomichi Marufuji and Takashi Sugiura. The Number 1 contender’s match takes place at NOAH’s November 6 Korakuen Hall show.
