Kate Middleton confirmed this afternoon that her Cancer is in remission following a stretch of chemotherapy.

“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery,” Middleton wrote in the caption of a post shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram account.

“As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”

In March, Middleton revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. There had been speculation about her health since soon after she first said she was having abdominal surgery in January, on the same day that King Charles was revealed to also have cancer. At the time she said she had been advised to undergo “a course of preventative chemotherapy.”

Later in the post, Middleton thanked all those she said had “quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything.”

“We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional,” she wrote.

Middleton also thanked staff at The Royal Marsden in London and said she would now become a patron of the hospital.

“In my new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden, my hope is, that by supporting groundbreaking research and clinical excellence, as well as promoting patient and family wellbeing, we might save many more lives, and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer,” the caption read.
