A new champion has been crowned.

During the March 20 episode of AEW Dynamite in Toronto, Eddie Kingston was tasked with defending the AEW Continental Championship against “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada.

After a hard-hitting affair, Okada connected with his signature Rainmaker clothesline on Kingston to score the pinfall victory and the title victory. But that wasn’t all, as PAC also made a quick appearance on the stage to seemingly send a message to the new champion.

Okada is now the second Continental Champion in AEW history. Kingston became the first titleholder when he defeated Jon Moxley in the Continental Classic finals at AEW Worlds End on December 30.

As it stands, Kingston is still the reigning ROH World Champion and NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion. He previously defended all three titles as the Continental Crown, but the bout against Okada was only for the AEW Continental Championship.
