Hyderabad: The BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao reassured city legislators about the party’s future despite some MLAs leaving for the Congress. Rao held a meeting with city MLAs, including former ministers and discussed recent desertions from the party.

Rao tried to convince the MLAs to stay in the party and not make hasty decisions. He mentioned that similar situations occurred during the YSR government, and they should not be afraid. The BRS chief assured the legislators that better days were ahead for the party.

He promised to have regular interactions with the party MLAs starting from Wednesday. Rao emphasized that a few members leaving the party would not affect its strength, and those trying to poach senior MLAs would face consequences from the people.

Patancheru MLA G Mahipal Reddy did not attend the meeting, citing work in New Delhi related to an ED case. Senior leader G Jagadish Reddy clarified that it was not an official meeting, and some MLAs had gone to meet the party chief on their own.
