Kenny Omega is set to return to the ring.
In an interview with NJPW’s website, former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega said that he was willing to face Gabe Kidd at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5. Kidd and Omega got into a backstage altercation after Omega appeared at NJPW Power Struggle, and they have gone back and forth in interviews in recent months.
Omega has not wrestled since December 2023, as he has been sidelined with diverticulitis. He made a one-off return to AEW programming in May before he underwent surgery, and he has been recovering ever since.
AEW stars The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Ricochet have been confirmed for NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty as well.
Gabe Kidd On Kenny Omega
Kidd discussed his feud with Omega in an interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp. He looked forward to their then-potential match.
“I don’t give a shit if he’s not cleared,” Gabe Kidd. “I don’t give a shit if it’s not cleared, he shouldn’t have been talking shit. [Sapp said Omega has diverticulitis]. I don’t give a shit what he had. All I know is he had some stomach injury that has put him out for a year. That’s bitch move. Hiverticultis, I don’t care, he’s gonna wish that that killed him off.
“He’s gonna wish that Hiverticultis killed him off if he gets in the ring with me. The beating that I put on him is gonna be ridiculous, man. He’s a f*cking prick, and an unprofessional one at that, little bitch.”
