Kim Shaw is set for a heavily recurring role in Good American Family, Hulu‘s upcoming eight-episode limited drama series inspired by the story of Natalia Grace, starring and executive produced by Ellen Pompeo.

“Told from multiple points of view, as a means to explore issues of perspective, bias, and trauma, Good American Family is inspired by the disturbing stories surrounding a Midwestern couple who adopts a girl with a rare form of dwarfism,” according to the synopsis. “But as they begin to raise her alongside their three biological children, mystery emerges around her age and background, and they slowly start to suspect she may not be who she says she is. As they defend their family from the daughter they’ve grown to believe is a threat, she fights her own battle to confront her past and what her future holds, in a showdown that ultimately plays out in the tabloids and the courtroom.”

Mark Duplass and Imogen Faith Reid also star. Dulé Hill, Christina Hendricks, Sarayu Blue and Jenny O’Hara recur in the series.

Shaw plays Jennifer, Michael Barnett’s (Duplass) new wife after his separation from Kristine (Pompeo).

Katie Robbins serves as creator and executive producer with Sarah Sutherland, who serve as co-showrunners. Pompeo executive produces through her production banner Calamity Jane with Laura Holstein. Andrew Stearn, Dan Spilo, Niles Kirchner and Mike Epps also executive produce. Liz Garbus directed and executive produced the pilot. The limited series is produced by 20th Television.

Shaw recently recurred on the Netflix series, You, as well as Amazon’s horror anthology, Them. She was a series regular on NBC’s Saving Hope and I Just Want My Pants Back on MTV. On the feature side, she has appeared in Sex & The City: The MovieDid You Hear About The Morgans? and She’s Out Of My League. Shaw is repped by Gartner Group Entertainment.

Good American Family premieres March 19 on Hulu.
