Toni Kroos, the future ex-Real Madrid player, does not only have admirers among football fans.

A former great Chelsea player, in this case John Obi Mikel, attacked Real Madrid veterans. After the announcement of his retirement, Toni Kroos did not only receive tributes.

Obi Mikel believes that the trophies won by players of this generation are not deserved. The Nigerian said: “When we see that players like Kroos, Nacho, Carvajal and Modric have won 5 C1 trophies, it’s a bit unfair, because these players are not even close to being the best in their position.” If these players are not the best in their position then who could be?

“Kroos and Modric, not the best in their positions”

“It shows that trophies can be deceptive. I can name 10 players who, in the same position, are better than these footballers”, said the man who has only won “one” Champions League trophy. It was in 2012 with Chelsea.

He then concluded by saying: “To be honest, I really hope Borussia Dortmund wins the UCL final. They deserve it more than Real Madrid”. We will have understood, Obi Mikel is not really a very great Real player.
