The arrival of Julian Alvarez at Atlético de Madrid is only a matter of hours. The Albiceleste striker is reportedly about to join the Colchoneros, to the great delight of another Argentinian centre-forward, Kun Agüero, who himself played for Atlético and is campaigning for his arrival in Madrid. “He is the ideal player for El Cholo (Simeone) (…) Julián will feel like the starting nine for Atlético, the club and Cholo want him and I think the fans are very happy with his arrival”explained the former Citizen.
Alvarez’s arrival at the Colchoneros should cost the Red and White club a little over 90 million euros. Blocked by competition from Erling Haalnd at Manchester City, the Argentinian striker was looking for a project where he would be an undisputed starter, and this is now almost a done deal, as the player is preparing to commit permanently to the Colchoneros after a full agreement was reached between all parties.
