WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has had an illustrious career, with a standout rookie year that solidified his status as a wrestling legend. However, he recently shared his thoughts on why he does not see himself as the Greatest of All Time in WWE.

Known for his incredible rookie year and legendary status in wrestling, Angle hasn’t competed in the ring for over five years. His last match was against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, which turned out to be his final bout and he has never competed since then.

Kurt Angle has had one of the most impressive careers in wrestling history, with multiple championship wins across various promotions, placing him among the sport’s greats. However, in a recent interview on WFAN with Danielle McCartan, he talked about why he doesn’t see himself as the “greatest of all time” in WWE. Instead, he considers himself the best of “his generation.”

Angle acknowledged that if he hadn’t struggled with substance abuse, he might have had a longer career in WWE. He spent seven years in the company, which he feels isn’t enough to claim the title of the greatest. While he believes he was the best during his time, he does not think he has put in the years necessary to be considered the greatest overall.

”If I didn’t take the drugs I think I would be considered the greatest of all time. Because I would have spent 20+ years in the WWE and I only spent seven and that’s enough time. The years I had at that generation I was the best in that generation, I could say that. But looking back, can I consider myself the greatest of all time? No. Because I don’t think I put in enough years.”

Kurt Angle previously revealed that he is still under contract with WWE and is sure he will be used for something eventually, but he has yet to make an appearance since the RAW XXX edition of the show back in January of last year. Nonetheless, many fans will still consider Angle the Greatest of All Time in WWE and that’s never changing.
