The Undertaker’s impact on professional wrestling is unparalleled, with one of his most notable legacies being his undefeated streak at WrestleMania. However, Kurt Angle has now criticized WWE’s decision to end that streak.

The Undertaker’s legendary undefeated streak at WrestleMania began in 1991 when he defeated Jimmy Snuka. Over the years, victories over major stars like Jake Roberts, Sid, and Ric Flair made the streak even more iconic, often being seen as just as important as the World Championship match at WrestleMania. However, the streak ended at WrestleMania 30 when Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker, a decision that still bothers many fans to this day.

While speaking to Story Time With Dutch Mantell, Kurt Angle stated that he believes that the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania should never have ended. He felt that there was no need to have Brock Lesnar break the streak, since Lesnar was already a big star and didn’t need the extra push. Angle thought the Undertaker deserved to keep the streak as part of his legacy.

Angle was shocked when the Undertaker lost, saying his reaction was like the fan in the crowd with wide eyes. He couldn’t believe it and wondered why WWE made that decision. In his opinion, the Undertaker should have retired undefeated, keeping the streak intact.

“Yeah, you know what? I think they were so worried about making the other athlete when they didn’t really need to. You don’t need to make Brock Lesnar. And, you know, just the prestige of being undefeated at WrestleMania—to carry that with your legacy—Undertaker deserved that.

I was dumbfounded when I saw him lose. I was like, ‘Why?’ I was like that guy in the crowd after Undertaker lost, the one with his eyes just wide open. That was me too. I was like, ‘Holy s***, I couldn’t believe it!’

And I’m thinking, ‘What are they thinking? Why would they do that?’ The other guy didn’t need it. He should have retired undefeated. I think it was the wrong person. I think Undertaker should have stayed undefeated.”

Even Jim Ross previously stated that The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak should have continued. Regardless, The Phenom’s WrestleMania streak will always be a vital part of WWE history and will remain his legacy. This aspect of his career will never change, despite the ongoing controversy surrounding how it ended.

Do you agree with Kurt Angle’s view that The Undertaker’s streak should have remained unbroken, or do you think Brock Lesnar’s victory was the right move for the future of WWE? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
