Kothagudem District Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju announced that 1,035 kg of ganja worth Rs 2.58 crore was found in the district by the district police. They are working with the Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) to stop drug smuggling in the area.
A total of 427 kg of cannabis was discovered in two cars during vehicle inspections in Bhadrachalam. The contraband, hidden in plywood sheets, was valued at around Rs 1.06 crore. Seven individuals from Mothugudem and Sukumamidi in AP were arrested for attempting to smuggle the ganja to Hyderabad.

During vehicle inspections at Saibaba Temple on Jangareddygudem road, 359 kg of ganja was found hidden in a pickup truck among jackfruits. The value of the drugs was estimated at Rs 89.83 lakh, and four individuals from Darakonda in Alluri Sitaramaraju district in AP were taken into custody.
In a separate incident near Aswapuram police station, three individuals from Chintoor, Alluri Sitaramaraju district were caught smuggling 249 kg of cannabis in a private bus to Hyderabad. They had built a shelf in the luggage area to conceal the drugs, which were valued at Rs 62.07 lakh. The accused were arrested and their vehicles were seized by the authorities.
