The Court of Cassation reveals this Thursday the indictment of the Minister of Sports Amélie Oudéa-Castera after a complaint filed by Noël Le Graët.

Here is a new stone in the garden of the Minister of Sports Amélie Oudéa-Castéra. This Thursday, the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation, Rémy Heitz, confirmed the indictment of the person concerned for “ public defamation of an individual “.

The individual in question is none other than the former president of the French Football Federation Noël Le Graët, who filed a complaint against the minister for defamation last February, just a few hours after having resigned from the FFF, overwhelmed by a report from the General Inspectorate of Education, Sport and Research (IGESR).

Did the minister lie?

Accused of sexual harassment in particular, Noël Le Graët accuses Amélie Oudéa-Castéra of having lied in this report, also noting differences between the summary made public on February 15 and denouncing “ words or writings that are ambiguous for some and of a clearly sexual nature for others » and the full version of the report which was never published.

Last June, at the opening of the judicial investigation against her, the Minister of Sports, through her office, declared herself “ serene ” And “ ready to publicly respond to Mr. Le Graët’s unfounded accusations. » The Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR), the only one authorized to judge ministers in office, is now at the indictment stage.

During the 2017 presidential campaign, Emmanuel Macron considered that a minister under investigation had to resign immediately. Since then, many representatives of his government have been concerned by the justice system – and in particular the sovereign ministers Eric Dupond-Moretti (Justice) and Gérald Darmanin (Interior).
