Robert Lewandowski pointed out what was lacking, according to him, at Barça this season.

2023-24 will undoubtedly remain a season to forget for FC Barcelona. Second in La Liga, the Blaugranas will close their exercise on Sunday against Sevilla, with the objective of securing their place as runner-up to Real Madrid. Beyond a blank season, the Catalans also have to deal with several absences, including those of Alejandro Balde, Frenkie De Jong and Gavi, all three injured.

If the first two should return to the field this summer, the young Spanish midfielder will not be expected before October or November, depending on Diario AS. Victim of a ruptured cruciate ligament in his right knee in November 2023, the 2022 Golden Boy was greatly missed by Culés, at least that’s what Robert Lewandowski thinks. For the Polish striker, Gavi’s unavailability greatly penalized the Barcelona team.

Lewandowski praises Gavi’s character

“From the beginning, we knew we would miss him, declared the former Bavarian for Marca. He is a type of player who, when the game is not going well, through his movements and his aggressiveness, brings the team back up. A team needs this type of player and that’s why we miss him. But we don’t have it, and now what we can do is wait for it to come back. He’s a special player, since my arrival I saw that he had something that the team needed. He has talent and aggression. »

“Sometimes you have to stop him, but other times he’s the one pulling the team and saying ‘come on guys, let’s go’. Push. And he has a great personality, he’s a very nice guy that everyone likes. I’m waiting for you, I want you to come back soon. But there is no need to put pressure on him, although, given how he works, I am sure everything will be fine,” assured Lewandowski.
