Despite a tiptoe start to the game during which Abdon Prats multiplied the chances and caused enormous harm to the visitors, Manuel Pellegrini’s men found the necessary resources to reverse the trend and take control of the game before the break thanks to an achievement by Sergi Altimira (45th+1). With this favorable result, the Andalusian club (7th) is relaunching in the race for Europe, coming back to two lengths behind Real Sociedad (6th). A few days after qualifying for the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, Mallorca fell back into its old ways and remained in 15th place, five points behind the first non-relegation place.
