Liverpool are hoping to sign the Atalanta midfielder Ederson Dos Santos during the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian has established himself as a key player for the Italian outfit, and he has been one of the best central midfielders in Italian football this past season. He has helped Atalanta win the UEFA Europa League as well.

Naturally, top clubs are keen on securing his signature. According to TuttoJuve, Liverpool want to sign the South American midfielder this summer and they have chosen to prioritise a move for him over Teun Koopmeiners. The Dutch international has been linked with Liverpool as well, but it seems that the Reds prefer Ederson.

Meanwhile, Juventus really like Koopmeiners and they are expected to make a move for him. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can get a deal done for the Brazilian midfielder.

Ederson would improve Liverpool

Ederson will add creativity, goals, composure, and work rate to the Liverpool midfield. He scored seven goals last season.  It is no secret that they need to bring in central midfield reinforcements during the summer transfer window. Thiago Alcantara has left the club on a free transfer and he will need to be replaced adequately.

Liverpool could use a complete midfielder like Ederson in the coming seasons. The 24-year-old is likely to improve further with coaching and experience. He could develop into a top class player for the Reds with the right guidance. The opportunity to join a club like Liverpool will be quite exciting for him, and he will look to prove his quality at the highest level.

Moving to the Premier League will be a major step up in his career right now and he will hope that the two clubs can finalise in agreement soon. Liverpool must improve their squad this summer if they are serious about challenging Arsenal or Manchester City. The 24-year-old Brazilian will certainly help them improve in the middle of the park.
