A Nigerian woman who made headlines for tearing her husband’s international passport at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport has revealed what prompted her to do so in an interview making rounds on social media. According to SAHARA REPORTERS, the woman claimed that her action was a way of showing her displeasure over how she was being treated by her husband. She explained that she has been enduring her husband for a long time, noting that she is tired of her family issues.

Reacting to the social media backlashes, the woman stated that her reasons for tearing her husband’s international passport were understandable. She explained that she has been going through emotional struggles for a long time ever since she married her husband.

Hear her, “These issues have been going on for a very long time. I was just dancing to the tune till I arrived in my motherland Nigeria, and it just happened. I am not a mad woman who would just come and act like that. I have my reasons.

Family issues here and there every time. My husband cannot speak. It took me a long time because he is the one controlling my page for me. I suffered with this my husband. I know how many years I suffered with him. I know the pain I’m going through. Look at my eyes; I cry every day.”
