Amad Diallo has just joined Manchester United’s three-player cohort who have had to withdraw from their respective national teams through injury.
Alejandro Garnacho was first to be ruled out of his nation’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers, after which he revealed through Instagram that he’d been suffering from ‘knee problems’ in his last two outings; he featured for 45 minutes in the 3-3 draw with FC Porto before playing the full 90 just three days later at Villa Park.
England then announced on Monday that Kobbie Mainoo was among three players, along with Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa and Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, who would be unavailable for their Nations League double-header against Greece and Finland.
As well as the midfield starlet, Noussair Mazraoui won’t be joining up with Morocco. He was forced off at the interval in last Sunday’s goalless draw with Villa and now faces a race to reach full fitness in time for United’s return to Premier League action against Brentford on October 19.
The defender has proven crucial since his switch from Bayern Munich as not only is he a dependable starter on the right-hand side of the defence, but his presence allows Diogo Dalot to deputise for sidelined duo Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia at left-back.

“To do this, the Manchester United striker returns to his club for medical monitoring this Wednesday, October 9, 2024.”
The tantalising winger has proved to be something of a ‘superstar’ this season – now that he’s finally been given the opportunity to showcase his abilities.
