Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has approved the sale of Christian Eriksen this summer.

In addition to listening to bids for Eriksen this summer, Man United are also thinking about allowing Scott McTominay to leave Old Trafford, as reported by The Manchester Evening News.

After a fruitful stint at Brentford, the Denmark international Eriksen signed for the Red Devils in July 2022.

He was a vital member of the team in the 2022–2023 campaign with the midfielder featuring regularly in the Man United midfield.

However, since then his playing time has been cut short at the club and some injury issues have not helped his cause.

The emergence of youngster Kobbie Mainoo has worked again Eriksen and his chances of playing as the young England international has cemented his place in the team after a run of impressive performances.

Man United are ready to let Christian Eriksen leave the club this summer.

In 28 appearances for Manchester United during the 2023–24 season, Eriksen—who represented Denmark at Euro 2024—only managed one goal and three assists.

After meeting with ten Hag to discuss his future, Eriksen is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Man United will need a new addition in midfield this summer

Given that Donny van de Beek has departed for Girona and Casemiro and McTominay are both said to be leaving, Man United are probably going to add at least one midfield player.

The Red Devils have already agreed a deal to sign Joshua Zirkzee to bolster the attack while a defender is also being pursued to partner Lisandro Martinez in defense.

Now, a midfielder is likely to be signed considering the impending departures but it remains to be seen if it will be Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte or somebody else.
