Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo who has been one of the standout stars of the Premier League season.

The Red Devils had an uneventful January transfer session, only signing Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven. On the other hand, Antony and Marcus Rashford weren’t replaced, leaving Ruben Amorim with limited options upfront.

Nevertheless, several sources, including Fabrizio Romano, have been promising the club’s supporters an exciting summer transfer session. However, INEOS might be looking to stray from the old policy that saw the club pouring cash down the drain on big names who failed to justify their hefty price tags.

Hence, the management could go hunting for fresh names who are hungry to leave their mark on the big stage.

According to Fichajes.net, one of those profiles could be Semenyo who is enjoying a brilliant campaign at Bournemouth. He even scored a goal at Old Trafford when the Cherries slayed the Red Devils by three goals to nil in December. The Ghanaian now has 16 strikes and five assists in his 67 Premier League appearances.

The London native started his career at Bristol and had several spells in the Championship, before attracting the attention of Bournemouth who splashed £10 million for his services in January 2023. His current deal with the club is valid until June 2029.

Semenyo mainly plays as a right winger, so he could offer Ruben Amorim an alternative option to Amad Diallo, especially since Antony could seal a permanent transfer in the summer. Nevertheless, the London native can also play on the opposite flank as an inverted winger, or even as a centre-forward if required.

The 25-year-old’s current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at circa £28 million, but the Cherries will likely request bigger numbers.
