Manchester United will not offload Marcus Rashford in the summer after his night out in Belfast last week, talkSPORT understands.

Rashford is believed to have been fined fined £650,000, the equivalent of two weeks wages, as punishment for calling in sick for training last Friday, hours after being spotted leaving a nightclub.

He was also dropped for Sunday's unconvincing FA Cup fourth round win at League Two Newport.

That has led to speculation United could be looking to cut their losses on the England international at the end of the season.

But United still see Rashford, who has previously attracted interest from French giants PSG, as an important part of their future.

The Red Devils hierarchy are hoping this incident can provide a wake-up call to help Rashford get back to his best after scoring a paltry four goals this season.

talkSPORT exclusively revealed on Monday that members of United's coaching staff are concerned Rashford's lifestyle has played a part in his dramatic slump in form after hitting 30 goals last term.

However, manager Erik Ten Hag believes he still has a good relationship with the player.

Rashford is expected to be back in the squad when United travel to Wolves on Thursday.
