Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for two English strikers, even though the club has made headway on a deal to sign Netherlands forward Joshua Zirkzee.
According to The Athletic, internal discussions have been held at United about adding another forward to the squad even if Zirkzee joins from Bologna.
The report claims United are mulling over whether to move for Brentford attacker Ivan Toney and Everton frontman Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Toney and Calvert-Lewin have been linked with moves away from their clubs this summer with one year left on both of their current deals, while the former has been linked with a big transfer away from Brentford since serving his ban for betting.
Laurie Whitwell reports: “Both have indicated they will not be signing fresh terms at their clubs and are looking to move.”
Toney, 28, is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League but I can’t look beyond Calvert-Lewin’s injury record.
Meanwhile, Marseille are closing in on a deal to sign Mason Greenwood after having a bid accepted by Manchester United. The decision is now over to the player if he wants to move to France.
Let us know in the comments section if you would like to see Toney or Calvert-Lewin at United next season.
