Manchester United are set for a busy summer transfer window, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in line to oversee widespread changes at all levels.
Ratcliffe acquired 25% of the club earlier this year and as part of that deal, INEOS will assume responsibility for the club’s footballing operations.
Erik ten Hag has endured a tough second season at the club and as things stand, it is far from certain that he will remain the club’s manager by the end of the upcoming window.
Jason Wilcox was announced as the club’s new Technical Director on Friday, with the former Manchester City Head of Academy joining from Southampton. Wilcox is expected to work closely with Omar Berrada and incoming Sporting Director Dan Ashworth.
It remains to be seen if the manager’s role changes in terms of recruitment but despite the uncertainty surrounding the hierarchy, there are now reports linking the Reds with a €60m move.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, via Sport Witness, United are interested in RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo.
Olmo, fully established as one of the Bundesliga’s most prominent players, is a regular for Spain’s senior side and has admirers all over Europe.
As per the report, United have now ‘joined’ the race to sign Olmo this summer, with Barcelona also cited as a possible destination for the attacking midfielder.
It’s claimed that €60m would be enough to seal a transfer as the player has a release clause but United are not the only club interested.
Manchester City are also in the frame but it is specified that United have shown more interest, with another unnamed English club also keen.
