Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has won the Premier League Save of the Month award.

While away on international duty with Cameroon, Onana has been rewarded for Premier League Save of the Month for his incredible double save in the goalless draw against Crystal Palace in September.

Onana got a hand to Eddie Nketiah’s driving effort before reacting quickly to deny Ismaila Sarr’s rebound.

It’s his second time winning the award yet Palace’s Sarr will feel like he should have found the back of the net. Thankfully, for Onana’s astounding piece of goalkeeping, the scoreline was kept level at Selhurst Park.

September was a poor month as far as results are concerned, although Onana did well on a positive note, being voted United’s Player of the Month by the fans.

The Cameroonian stopper has kept four clean sheets in the Premier League, which is more than any other keeper in the top flight this season.

The Save of the Month award was won by Arsenal’s David Raya in August when he denied Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.

Our first-choice keeper is determined to bring out his best after a challenging debut season at Old Trafford.

Explaining why United fans are set to see a different keeper from now out, Onana recently said via @ManUtd: “I know the country, I know the league, I know the city. I will take a lot of risks, like I used to do in the past, before I was here. You guys are going to see a different Andre Onana.”

By vowing to do all it takes to improve at United, I think we’ve seen glimpses of that this season. The Save of the Month award is one thing but the four clean sheets in seven matches tally is far more impressive.

Onana is showing positive signs between the posts.
