Manchester United have made a second offer for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
It is no secret that United are in the market for a central defender, and have already had an offer rejected by Everton for Branthwaite.
Everton reportedly want to keep hold of the defender who won the club’s Young Player of the Season award. Their asking price for Branthwaite is believed to be £70million.
However, United’s latest bid for Branthwaite is worth £45m plus a further £5m in add-ons, as per the Daily Mail.
United’s new approach to the transfer market won’t see them make the same mistakes as before when United were happy to pay £80m for Harry Maguire. Those days are gone (I hope)…
Lille’s Leny Yoro has been linked with a move to United this summer, but the highly-rated French youngster seemingly has his heart set on joining Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt looks set to sign for United after Euro 2024. That means we could add two high-quality centre-backs to the squad this summer.
