Manchester United host Rangers in the Europa League this evening in a game they must win.

The Red Devils were beaten 3-1 by Brighton at the weekend to leave head coach Ruben Amorim furious.

The former Sporting Lisbon boss is often calm, but he lost it and reportedly damaged the big TV in the home dressing room.

That defeat made it four in the last five at home for Man United, with just one win against Southampton.

And Rangers will be no pushovers, having drawn with Tottenham and smashed Nice in the Europa League this season.

Philippe Clement knows he can lead his side to a famous victory, and he will have his sights set on achieving that.

Man United vs Rangers: Amorim's awful start

It would be fair to say that when he took the Man United job in November, Amorim didn't envisage it going this badly.

Positive results and performances against Liverpool and Arsenal in the FA Cup have been overshadowed by some shocking defeats.

Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Brighton and Newcastle have all won at Old Trafford.

It's been a grim start to the new era, with Marcus Rashford's time at the club seemingly over and several other players not delivering regularly.

The one positive for Man United is that a win against Rangers should seal their place in the top eight of the Europa League.

Man United vs Rangers: Team news

Rashford is unlikely to be involved as Man United seek an exit strategy for the England international.

Luke Shaw is closing in on a return, but this game will come too soon for him.

Mason Mount, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans are all out.

The Gers are sweating over Jack Butland and TomL Lawrence's fitness.

Mohamed Diomande is suspended, while Dujon Sterling and John Souttar are also doubtful.

Man United vs Rangers: What has been said?

Amorim is anticipating a hard match against Rangers.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: "We expect a tough match, a lot of physicality during the game.

“We know that some important players from Rangers will not play and we have to know the new players to understand the way that they play.

“They play with the full-backs really high on the pitch and they have talent to score in the final thirds.

“It is one more difficult game but it is important for us because we want to keep in the play-offs and we need to have that [extra] time to train. I expect the same thing we faced in the last games, a really tough match, a lot of physicality and also the fans from Rangers making some noise.

“So we are prepared, our fans are prepared and we want to win.”
