The dramatic victory helped United up to seventh, one point and one spot below visitors West Ham.

The Irons have enjoyed an impressive season but their 1-1 with Bournemouth marked their third successive top-flight draw.

The Hammers are looking to complete their first league double over Man United since the 2006/07 season but manager David Moyes has won just one of his 19 away games against his former club.

Man United vs West Ham: Dream-lund

Hojlund has started to find his form at United having been involved in three goals in his last two home games in all competitions (2 goals, 1 assist), having scored just two goals (0 assists) in his first 12 appearances at Old Trafford.

His latest goal for United has seen him break a scoring record that Cristiano Ronaldo held since 2007.

The Dane scored United's second goal in their dramatic 4-3 win away at Wolves on Thursday night.

Hojlund also played a key role in the opener as he assisted Marcus Rashford after just minutes before doubling his side's advantage.

As a result, the striker has scored and assisted for the second Premier League match in row after his previous efforts against Tottenham.

He is also the youngest player to do so too, achieving this feat at the age of 20 years and 362 days.

Club legend Ronaldo was the last star to hold the title when he scored and assisted against Watford and then Tottenham in 2007.

The Portuguese legend did so aged 21 years and 363 days but this has now been eclipsed by one of United's latest rising stars.

The home side's injury woes have eased in recent weeks, but Mason Mount still headlines the club's list of absentees.

Man United vs West Ham: What has been said?

Ten Hag has admitted that United's inability to sign a striker in January has promoted a rethink for the rest of the season.

He said: “I think it’s not a secret that I wanted a striker extra.

“Because with the injury of Martial we don’t really have back-up there, but it was not possible because we have to match the FFP rules.

“We have Omari [Forson], we have Amad Diallo, of course we have Rashford who can play there. I think for the rest, all the positions are occupied.

"But, yeah, we have to be a little bit creative if it’s up to the number nine position.”

Following their 2-0 win at the London Stadium in December, West Ham are looking to complete their first league double over Manchester United since 2006-07. Their 1-0 victory at Old Trafford on the final day that season was also their last away league victory against the Red Devils.
