Rashford subsequently called in sick to training, with United since stating that the forward ‘has taken responsibility for his actions’.

It is believed that the club fined the England international £650,000 - the equivalent of two weeks' wages.

And we told you earlier this week that members of United's coaching staff are concerned Rashford's lifestyle has played a part in his dramatic slump in form after hitting 30 goals last term.

From 20 Premier League games this season, he has chipped in with just four goals and two assists.

Despite criticism aimed at Rashford with some fans calling for him to be sold, talkSPORT understands that United still consider him as a key player.

He features on the left wing, with Alejandro Garnacho slotting in on the opposite flank while Rasmus Hojlind once again leading the line.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Andre Onana has immediately returned between the sticks following Cameroon's exit at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ten Hag will be hoping Rashford inspires United to another victory at Molineux after proving to be the matchwinner late on last season.

United currently languish ninth in the Premier League, and will drop down to tenth if they lose to Wolves, who will leapfrog above them.

Though should United claim all three points, they would rise up to at least seventh - likely behind West Ham in sixth on goal difference.

United have failed to win in their last two Premier League games - losing away at Nottingham Forest before drawing at home to Tottenham.

Incredibly, since the start of December, they have won just two out of eight league matches.
