Stade Rennais and Massara see a lead fly away. While the signing of Croatian defender Marin Pongračić seemed to be complete in recent days, West France revealed this Wednesday that the player was very close to signing with Fiorentina. However, an agreement in principle had been reached between Lecce and the Breton club for a transfer estimated at 12 million euros, but this is now void. Pongracic has chosen to stay in Italy.

The 26-year-old defender, who was at the Euro, will sign with the Viola. He has already arrived in Florence this Thursday morning to undergo his medical and sign his contract. The Tuscan club has positioned itself after the departure of the Serbian Nikola Milenkovic to Nottingham Forest. The prospect of staying in Italy, and the possibility of participating in a European Cup next season (Fiorentina is involved in the Europa Conference League) have reversed the balance of power.
