Married J.R. Smith welcomes baby with ‘Flash’ actress Candice Patton, years after affair was exposed by his wife

J.R. Smith is adding another baby to his team.

The former NBA star, who is married to Shirley “Jewel” Smith, welcomed a baby boy with “Flash” actress Candice Patton, years after his wife exposed their affair.

On Friday, Patton, 36, shared that she gave birth to a baby boy on Instagram alongside photos of his little feet and a heavily tattooed person holding him.

“Son in Virgo. Born at home. Heart now beats outside of my chest. In love forevermore 💕👣,” she captioned the post, without disclosing who the father of the baby was.

The following day, the “Craigslist Killer” star and J.R., 39, shared a joint post on Instagram that featured a carousel of pictures of the newborn with his face covered by emojis.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers star’s baby announcement came as a shock to fans because he is still legally married to Shirley.

“That’s not his wife?!” wrote one fan in a blog’s comments section.

“Son in Virgo. Born at home. Heart now beats outside of my chest. In love forevermore 💕👣,” she captioned the post. “Wow! Had a baby by the woman he cheated on his wife with Smfh,” added another.

“Y’all remember when his wife at the time called them out for having an affair??” said third user.

“Wow … Jewel was rite. This the same one from years ago, rite? WOW!!! Ladies – stand on business, integrity and self worth. Never mess with a married man!!!!” commented a fourth person.

Nearly five years ago, Shirley, who has been married to J.R. since 2016, publicly addressed the affair on Instagram, posting a video of herself praying for her husband and his alleged mistress, Patton.

“God, I would like to lift my husband up and ask you … to please just cover him with your blood,” she said, adding that she wants God to “heal him.”

“My husband, he’s hurting and Candice, Lord Father God, she’s hurting,” Shirley continued.

“For her to go out here, Lord Father God, and seek a married man, Father God, I just pray that you give her grace and mercy through all of this. I lift her up.”

After Shirley’s prayer went viral, J.R. took to his Instagram Stories, writing, “No weapon formed against me. IG ain’t a place for relationships!!”
