WWE boasts a roster filled with immensely talented Superstars, but it’s also true that many talents have departed WWE for a variety of reasons. One such example is Matt Cardona, who was released by WWE and has since emerged as a prominent figure in the independent wrestling scene. On the 4-year anniversary of his WWE release, Cardona reflected on everything he accomplished to this day.

In case you need a reminder, Matt Cardona was known as Zack Ryder during his time in WWE. He didn’t break the glass ceiling there and was unable to reach his potential as a star there. He was eventually released by WWE in 2020 and went on to become the Indy God in the independent circuit.

Matt Cardona took to Twitter and uploaded a video on the 4-year anniversary of his WWE release, as he reflected on becoming the Indy God, the Death Match King and always being ready to compete anywhere. Needless to say, he accomplished a lot in four years.

‘4 years ago…April 15, 2020…I was released by WWE.

It was a blessing in disguise. I’m forever grateful for my time in WWE, but Zack Ryder needed to die for Matt Cardona to live!

No matter how you define success…accolades, money, happiness…these past 4 years have been the most successful of my career.

Thank you to all of my fans…old and new. It’s time to start another year of proving us right!

Where should I show up next?

Matt Cardona also believes he will return to WWE eventually. It remains to be seen whether fans will finally get to see Matt Cardona finally make his return to WWE one day.

What’s your opinion on Matt Cardona’s accomplishments in the last four years? Do you think he will eventually sign with WWE? Let us know in the comments!
