Maxxine Dupri Reveals How Fiancé Anthony Luke Planned Elaborate Beach Proposal

Maxxine Dupri’s popularity as a WWE Superstar cannot be understated as she is beloved inside and outside the ring. Her personal life reached a new level after her longtime boyfriend NXT standout Anthony Luke proposed to her. She has now revealed how Luke planned the whole proposal.

While speaking with the Lightweight Podcast, Maxxine Dupri shared how her fiancé, Anthony Luke, planned the proposal. She mentioned that going into their trip, she had no expectations of getting engaged, as she knew how busy he was with NXT and that they had been together for almost six years. They had talked about marriage, but she never pressured him into it, wanting him to be ready when the time came.

“I made a TikTok about 20 minutes before we left or less saying like, ‘I think I’m getting engaged,’ however, going into the trip, I had no idea. I was actually certain that it wasn’t happening. He’s in NXT, he’s on his grind, like, he has so much on his plate, and we’ve been together for almost six years, we live together, so in my mind, I’m like, ‘Oh, he’s not rushing to it. I can be patient, I guess.’ And then when it happened, I was like shocked. But the day up, I started having a feeling that something’s going on. We’ve discussed it, but I’ve never pressured him into it.”

Dupri stated that she had a feeling something was up as the day of the proposal approached, but was still surprised when it happened. In her mind, she had imagined a simple proposal where he would ask her to set up her phone for a TikTok and then get down on one knee. However, when they arrived at the beach, she was taken aback by the elaborate setup—life-size heart roses and a hidden photographer, making the moment even more special.

“I did not want to pressure him because I knew that we were going to get married eventually anyways, and I wanted him to be in a place where he was confident and ready to do that, not… I don’t know. He has a lot on his plate being in NXT, so I was never pressuring him. So then I just thought, ‘It’ll happen,’ but like, we’ve discussed it, he knew the shape of the ring I wanted, and that kind of stuff. But then when it happened, I was like… I had said nothing about what I wanted for the engagement. I was not expecting that. When I tell you, this is what I was picturing in my head when I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s going to happen.’ I’m like, ‘He’s going to pull over, he’s going to be like, set up your phone for a TikTok, my phone will be recording, and he’ll get down on one knee.’ That’s what in my head was going to happen, which would also be amazing.

Then we get to the beach, and there’s like literally life-size heart roses, there’s a hidden photographer. I was like, ‘Oh my God, you really love me!'”

The Alpha Academy members immediately knew what was happening when they reached the beach and became emotional. The proposal was perfectly planned, with both of their families present and everything she could have hoped for, making it a truly unforgettable moment.

“Oh, the second I saw the beach, I knew, because as we were walking up, we were having an intimate conversation where I was like, ‘Okay, it’s going down.’ So I knew it was about to go down. Then once I saw the beach, I was like instantly emotional. It’s all of your favorite things too, like you were on vacation, both of your parents were there, and he was there, obviously. We needed him. But yeah, like he couldn’t have done it more perfectly. No, it was absolutely perfect.”
