EXCLUSIVE: The Sherdan-verse series Mayor of Kingstown is getting high-profile cast additions for its upcoming fourth season. Emmy winner Edie Falco, BAFTA winner Lennie James and Tony winner Laura Benanti are joining the Paramount+ drama starring Jeremy Renner.
Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry.
Falco will play the series regular role of Nina Hobbs, Anchor Bay’s new prison warden. In a season-long arc, James will play Frank Moses, a legendary gangster respected in the city of Detroit, the state of Michigan, and well as beyond. Benanti will play the series regular role of Cindy Stephens, a new correctional officer recruited in Kingstown.
Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions, Mayor Of Kingstown is executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Falco, the first actress to win Best Actress Emmy in both drama (The Sopranos) and comedy (Nurse Jackie), recently appeared in Avatar: The Way of Water and will next star opposite Brian Cox in The Parenting. She is repped by CAA and Entertainment 360.
British actor James, known for his role as Morgan Jones in The Walking Dead franchise, recently headlined and executive produced the hit BBC limited series Mr. Loverman, starred in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof opposite Daisy Edgard Jones in the West End and lent his voice to Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King. He is represented by UTA, Entertainment 360 and Independent Talent Group.
Benanti is currently seen in the TV Land comedy series Younger, which has found a new life on Netflix. Her recent TV credits include arcs on HBO’s The Gilded Age and CBS’ Elsbeth. Her solo comedy show, Laura Benanti: Nobody Cares, is now streaming on Audible. Benanti is repped by Gersh, Untitled Entertainment and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.
