Even if he formalized his departure at the end of the season, Kylian Mbappé still has to settle certain things with Paris Saint-Germain, following the agreement reached with President Nasser Al-Khelaifi last summer.

Kylian Mbappé will play his last match with Paris Saint-Germain this Saturday evening, with the Coupe de France final against Lyon. But everything will not be over between the Bondynois and his club at the end of this meeting.

First, on a contractual level, Mbappé is linked to PSG until June 30. Then, and as L’Equipe confirms this Saturday morning, “a financial deal remains to be finalized”, “to definitively turn the page”. What does everyday life refer to? At the end of the contract, the captain of the France team has been authorized since January 1 to discuss with other clubs, and even to commit to another team for next season. Which is also something done with Real Madrid.

Mbappé, PSG wants to get something back

But then, what happens? In fact, it all goes back to last summer, when PSG put pressure on Mbappé by sidelining him for a few weeks, to encourage (force) him to extend. In order to be reinstated, the striker promised his president that he would not leave his club penniless, and a financial agreement was reached. Mbappé would have given up certain bonuses, for a very significant moment (some mention the sum of 180 million euros), and he could make a small additional gesture between now and his departure.

In recent months, Nasser Al-Khelaifi has also used this theme to force Mbappé to change his mind, or at least to make a gesture. The arguments used, according to L’Equipe: “you can’t harm PSG”, “you can’t go free and strengthen our biggest rival”, “all the big players, Bellingham, Kane, leave leaving money to their club “. We will see if the Mbappé clan is sensitive to this speech…
